Recommendations from local to regional dialogues

In 2021, the founders of Sprouts convened a series of multi-stakeholder dialogues in the run-up to the United Nations Food Systems Summit. The dialogues were organized around the link between seeds and access to a diverse planting materials to a sustainable and inclusive food system.

The dialogues started with community level discussions with groups of farmers in Zimbabwe. The recommendations that were formed by the farmers were then discussed and corroborated at regional level, by a diverse group of participants, including civil society and private sector representatives, academia breeders and policymakers.

The document below contains the main findings and recommendations that were concluded in the series of dialogues and that were presented to the UN Food System Summit.
